Snapshot:

I’ve been in full -time ministry since 2007, and a volunteer Young Life leader since 1996. I am currently pursuing a Master’s of Divinity degree at Phoenix Seminary. In 1999 I married my beautiful wife Amy. The Lord called Amy and I to plant Kineo Church in the fall of 2008, and on Jan. 11th, 2009 we had our first service.

A handful of faithful friends and family came with us and we began proclaiming and living out the Gospel together. Since then, the Lord has been on the move. We have a passion to see Kineo Church be a church that plants other Gospel-centered churches. In that, we are called to be salt and light to the surrounding community, to train up and equip men and women to be fully devoted disciples of Jesus Christ who love God, love people and make disciples all for the glory of God.

Favorite Quote: “You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life…” -Winston Churchill

Favorite Scripture:  “Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid.” Proverbs 12:1 (NKJV)

Snapshot:

God has brought me to Kineo through a series of what I would call divine appointments and answers to prayer.  After a time in my life of stagnant faith, God provided an opportunity here at Kineo that is pushing me outside my comfort zone as well as providing the chance to serve in a community that is in desperate need of a Savior.  The ability to bring glory to God through music is a passion of mine and the privilege to have my wife Amy along side me in this adventure is an even greater blessing.  My prayer is that God continues to make His presence known here at Kineo as we attempt to Love God and Love People the way Christ would.

Snapshot:

After seeking the Lord for almost a year about what ministry the Lord wanted my husband and me to be a part of, God called us to Kineo Church.  It was like a breath of fresh air – a completely different style of worship and ministry than we had been used to for over 35 years.  God is allowing us to use the talents he has given us over the years.

Favorite Scripture: “Truly I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3

Snapshot:

The Lord called me to Phoenix in 2007 via Teach for America after giving me a deep passion for the inner city and Gospel-style community. The Lord kept me patient for a year and a half and in 2009 Kineo formed and I started to realize why I was brought 3000 miles from home. Two months after Kineo started I met my wife, Laysa, and we were married a year and a half later. This past January we started our Community Group in our new home where we join with fellow believers to talk about the Lord, pray, fellowship, and of course, eat! In January, I also took on the role of coordinating Sunday School at Kineo. I am excited to see where the Lord takes Laysa and I as we continue to grow in Jesus together and with you guys!

Least Favorite Word:  not fair (ok, so it’s 2 words – SMILE!)

Favorite Quote: I love quotes but can’t choose just one, so here are 3 of my favorites:

“Life is a game, play it.”; “Not all of us can do great things but we can do small things with great love.”  Mother Teresa; “I am as safe on the battlefield as I am in my own home until God decides different.”  Stonewall Jackson paraphrased

Favorite Scripture: “…Mary has chosen what is better.” Luke 10:41. This is Jesus’ response to Martha in the story of Mary & Martha. This is something I have to constantly remind myself of.

Snapshot:

As a teenager I had a longing to be a foreign missionary but God had different plans and I entered my career as a police dispatcher at the age of 19. Thirty-one years later I retired in August of 2009 and was led to be on mission for God at Kineo Church. 85019/85017 is not a foreign county, in fact, it’s only a few miles from where I grew up and I am not an official “missionary”, but that’s where my heart is – loving and serving God by loving and serving people through Kineo Church.
